We have placed classified advertisements in the Wellsboro Gazette and the Tioga County Penny Saver in our effort to expand the dissemination of the information about the opening.
We have also mailed a letter informing a number of colleges, universities and schools in the area of the opening:
To The Placement Director:
One of the responsibilities of each radio and television broadcasting station is the “wide dissemination” of information about vacancies on our staff. The Federal Communications Commission has indicated that when we “spread the word” of these openings, we should not just look for fruit falling close under the tree, but should extend the reach so that graduates with a very specific interest in pursuing what might appear to be a unique career path might become aware of the availability.
So, we are sending this notification to your office, thinking that perhaps your files may contain someone who might be looking for this:
An Outside Salesperson for a Community Radio Station
in a rural part of the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, about
forty miles from the Elmira/Corning metro area, and also from
Williamsport. Their days would be spent visiting businesses and
learning about the needs and goals, and proposing a radio advertising
schedule. The experience gained by a person in this position expands
his/her self-reliance, confidence, and most of all, their ability to learn
how to “read people”, which is invaluable to become more than just
average in any chosen field.
To express interest, a person may contact Alfred Harer, Station Manager, at WNBT, P. O. Box 98, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
Thanks for helping us to spread the word.
Sincerely,
For WNBT
